John Michael Rysbrack sculpted the Saxon gods for Stowe House by 1729CE.
The temple had been in place from at least 1720CE. Originally all seven deities stood in a round edged enclosure known as a cabinet, and at the centre was a weofod, however they statures were moved to their current location in the mid 1740s when buildings for Stowe School required the land they were on.
The Statue of Thunor is currently in The Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
